OVERVIEW

Dar Malak aims to foster a culture of collaboration in the fields of art and design and builds off of the rich heritage of artisanship in Saudi Arabia. Recognizing that individual designers, artisans, and makers represent incredible talent and supreme expertise, Dar Malak brings together a world-class space and unparalleled programming to encourage learning, sharing, and producing. Dar Malak is particularly sensitive to the needs of local artisans and stages opportunities for them to learn, develop new skills, and teach others. At the core of Dar Malak’s mission is the belief that we learn best, achieve greater levels of creativity, and produce more when we work together and draw on one another’s strengths. 

THE PROCESS

Working closely with the client to understand the organization’s vision, I conducted in-depth research to pinpoint the context, the stakeholders, and their various needs. Based on this research, I proposed a detailed service and business model, as well as an organizational structure. The outcome was a colorful, visually-appealing booklet that outlined the research findings. The booklet was intended to be used to communicate the initiative to the community as well as promote the space among potential investors and other important stakeholders.
