VENT
Wall Mounted Luminaire

It's a dialogue between two opposing shapes. Circles and squares, interacting, converging, diverging, meeting and reflecting. Vent is a juxtaposition of an old fan cage, painted white, mounted on a 12 mm white Corian sheet: an experimental surface, on which the concentric square have been silk-screened.

I chose Corian due to its ability to reflect light homogeneously, as the lamp is hidden in the metallic compartment which plays the role of a conventional reflector, creating a play on light & shadow and on linear illusions, resulting in an impression of depth.
